Guess what? We have little house finches building a nest in a wreath on our front porch!! Here are a few pictures of their nest on day 3. Notice the little hearts they have intertwined with the twigs. They are leaves on a stem of wild flowers but I can't remember the plant's name. I'll post a pic of the plant and if anyone knows what it is, please let me know! It'll be fun to keep track of our new little family! I'll try to get video of them posted today too.

I just noticed a nest on a downspout by my garage door. It has 1 brown speckled egg in it! Could it be finches? I have noticed some small birds flying around out my front window, but the egg in my opinion would be too big for a little bird. You'll have to come by and look sometime!

How exciting! Our house finches look a lot like sparrows except the male has a dull red on his head and chest. Here is a link on what they and their eggs look like. Good luck with your little bird family. I think ours went and found a new home. They haven't been around since Sat.
